The area which Arbor Creek now encompasses was annexed between 1980 and 1984. The housing stock is composed mainly of low density, single separated houses. Roadways feature the names of prominent local individuals, most of them artists, as well as numerous former mayors.
Arbor Creek exists within the federal electoral area of Saskatoon-Humboldt. It is presently represented by Brad Trost of the Conservative Party of Canada. First elected in June 2004, Brad Trost is the Member of Parliament for Saskatoon-Humboldt, a constituency both urban and rural, in east central Saskatchewan that has the University of Saskatchewan at its heart.
Provincially, the area is within the constituency of Saskatoon Silver Springs. It is currently stood for by Ken Cheveldayoff of the Saskatchewan Celebration, very first elected in 2003 as well as re-elected in 2007.
Erindale-Arbor Creek Community Association
The Erindale-Arbor Creek Community Association is a fun group of volunteers. The group meets as soon monthly for about an hour to plan and arrange the recreation programs you see in the City of Saskatoon Leisure Guide as well as to produce an Area Newsletter, prepare the Family Fun Days.
The Erindale – Arbor Creek Community Association does a tremendous amount of work for the community and families that reside there. It merits emphasizing this, as it is an entirely community run, volunteer non-profit organization.
While maintaining their core programming and services to the community (Adult, Children and Sports programs), volunteers have worked to bring the community more events and services in the past two years including:
– re-starting the community garage sale and community clean-up days
– supporting the installation of new play equipment at the ‘Everybody’s Playground’ between our two local elementary schools
– purchasing a rink warm-up trailer for the outdoor rink
You can visit them online at http://www.erindalearborcreek.org/ for more information and to learn how to become a valued volunteer.
